Eradicator, originating in DC Comics, is a complex character deeply intertwined with Superman's lore.
The Eradicator program, created by Kryptonian scientists, aimed to preserve Kryptonian culture on other planets. One such device came into Superman's possession.
He first appeared in *The Man of Steel* #1 in 1986. Initially, the device was activated by Superman in an attempt to make Earth like Krypton. The Eradicator became an energy being that assumed human form over time.
In later iterations, the Eradicator was portrayed as a hero and villain with shifting allegiances. Often exhibiting extreme views and methods while still acting in what he believed to be Superman's and Krypton's best interests.
